DCFMR Curriculum Schedule

R-1
Family Health Center 1 to 2 half days per week
Medicine 2 months staff service and 2 months subspecialty including cardiology and ICU
Surgery 2 months on a private service functioning as a first year surgical resident
OB/GYN 2 months running a busy hospital ob/gyn service including outpatient office responsibilities
Pediatrics 2 months inpatient service at Children's Medical Center
Emergency Medicine 1 month in ER supervised by emergency medicine faculty
Neonatology 1 month staffing the nursery at Good Samaritan Hospital


R-2
Family Health Center 2 to 3 half days per week
Medicine 2 months of private subspecialty or general medicine
OB/GYN 1 month rotation incorporating increased floor and teaching responsibilities, as well as working with the hospital’s teen pregnancy clinic
Pediatrics Outpatient experience – 1 month subspecialty clinics and 1 month ER
Psychiatry 2 weeks of chemical dependency and 2 weeks of psychiatry
Dermatology 1 month with Wright State University's Dermatology Clinic or a private office
ENT 1 month outpatient
Orthopedics 2 months of ambulatory experience including sports medicine
Family Medicine Inpatient Service 1 month
Elective 1 month


R-3
Family Health Center 3 to 4 half days per week
Medicine 2 months private subspecialty medicine of resident's choosing
Geriatrics 1 month including hospice, nursing home and hospital exposure with longitudinal care experience
Community Medicine 4 weeks exposure to public health, schools, support services, occupational medicine and homeless care
Ophthalmology/Urology 2 weeks of each in private office
Radiology 2 weeks
Elective 4 months rotations and locations per resident preference (depending on individual's schedule)
Practice Management 2 weeks (required)/additional 2 weeks if preferred
Family Medicine Inpatient Service 2 months as chief of service
