How many residency slots do you have?
We accept six residents per year.

How old is your program?
The program was established as the Good Samaritan Family Practice Residency in 1972.

Is your program opposed or unopposed?
While specialty residents rotate in the hospitals, we are primarily unopposed on the majority of our rotations.

How much call do residents take?
Call is rotation specific but no greater than q4 for first-year residents and q6-8 for second-year residents. Call is rare for third-year residents but they serve as inpatient clinical chief for two months.

What are the program’s benefits/salary/perks?

Where do most of your graduates have their practices?
Most within Ohio. Many are within 50 miles of Dayton.

What fellowship opportunities are available to graduates of your family medicine residency?
Our residents have done very well in obtaining fellowship placement in obstetrics, sports medicine, and geriatrics. Academic medicine fellowships are also available.

Among other initiatives, both of our family health centers are moving toward having electronic medical records.
